My name is Carly and I have worked at The Grove Primary School since 2014 and I am very lucky to be the Deputy Head Teacher of our wonderful school.  I am also responsible for Special Educational Needs and Disadvantaged children. Another big passion of mine is being involved with making playtimes better using OPAL (Outdoor Play And Learning) in our school. I have a great team who help me to ensure our children get the most out of their playtimes.

As our school’s SENDCo. I have a real passion for ensuring all children, no matter what their ability, get a quality education, are treated equally and have amazing opportunities.  I have a real passion for ensuring all children, no matter what their ability, get a quality education, are treated equally and have amazing opportunities.

Alfie Irwin

My dog Alfie

When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, baby Isla and my dog Alfie. He is a Lhasa Apso and is very hairy and loves eating cheese! We like to go for long walks around the lovely countryside we have surrounding Consett.

All my classes know my favourite things are: diet coke, pizza and chocolate cake so I spend my free time with my friends or my family doing this!  I like to keep fit (so I can eat more cake!) and do this every day also.

I knew I wanted to be a teacher since I was 7 years old and it is my absolute pleasure to teach and support our wonderful children and families at The Grove Primary School.
