Bounce Breakfast
Here at The Grove Primary School, we are proud to be a National School Breakfast program school and offer a healthy breakfast to all of our children as part of Bounce Breakfast sessions. Bounce Breakfast takes place in the school hall, every morning, from 8:00am. It is open to all children and there is no need to pre book.
Did you know that if children start the day in an active way (doing exercise, moving more, yoga, sports) they can improve their overall learning by an additional two months progress? This can make a huge difference to their ability to concentrate and take in new information. All children should take part in at least one hour of exercise everyday so we hope this can help them to reach their target! Children will wear their school uniform (no sports clothes needed) but sensible school shoes are necessary or pack some trainers. Each day children will have the choice of a healthy breakfast snack and take part in a different activity such as team games, circuit training, a jog, walk or even yoga.
The cost of the club is only £1.00 per session, which can be paid through ParentPay and it is partly funded by the DFE’s Sugar Tax levy. If your child receives Pupil Premium funding, please see Carly about subsidies you can access for this. Part of the club will be providing a healthy snack (toast, cereal, bagel, porridge, fruit etc…) children will then head straight into class to do their Wake up Shake Up sessions. We would like as many children as possible to attend the club and children can drop in between 8:00-8:30am for the activity.
After School Childcare
Here at The Grove Primary School, we offer a childcare service from 3pm until 4.30pm Monday to Friday during term times.
Sessions must be pre booked, this can be done either by completing a booking form and returning to the school office or through ParentPay.
The fees are currently £3.00 per hour (£5.00 from 3..00-4.30pm). This fee is inclusive of a light snack during session time if your child is staying after 4pm.
The Childcare should be notified in advance if your child will not be attending a booked session. Refunds/credits cannot be given for cancelled sessions.
If you require this service, please contact the school office.
