I joined the governing body in November 2022 as a co-opted governor. My current employment is Director of Specialism- Science for New College Durham Academies Trust which currently has both Consett and North Durham Academy in the trust. My role revolves around school improvement at all levels, from teaching practice to school operations, finance and safeguarding. Previously I have worked in a large catholic trust having started as a Teacher of Science, progressing to pastoral lead and careers lead.
My hobby is running or going to the gym- much needed after long days work. I have been married for 2 years now with a 13-year-old Jug (Jack Russel Pug) who thinks she owns our home and the local pub!
I am passionate about education and see primary education as pivotal in the development of the child and preparing them for both their academic and personal career.
